Prep to Class 6 — a rich journey through childhood
In Steiner primary education, learning is brought alive through storytelling, artistic expression, and hands-on experience. Rather than switching between fragmented subjects every hour, children engage in immersive three to four week main lesson blocks that allow deep, meaningful learning.
Each morning begins with a two-hour main lesson — a rich, teacher-created experience combining storytelling, discussion, artistic work, and practice. The class teacher, who journeys with the children over multiple years, knows each child deeply and tailors the learning experience to meet their needs.
Afternoons are dedicated to specialist subjects — music, handcraft, eurythmy, foreign languages, and sport — ensuring every child develops a broad range of skills and capacities.

Each year brings new stories, new skills, and new adventures — carefully designed to meet children at each stage of development.
A gentle bridge from kindergarten, extending imaginative play while introducing longer activities, fairy tales, and creative arts.
Stories from fairy tale traditions introduce letters and numbers through images and imagination, not rote learning.
Animal fables and legends of saints develop moral imagination and deepen literacy and numeracy skills.
Children engage with practical skills — farming, house-building, cooking — connecting them to the earth during a key developmental transition.
Norse myths and Australian geography develop a stronger sense of self and place in the world.
The great ancient cultures — India, Persia, Egypt, Greece — alongside the study of the plant world.
Roman history, the scientific method, and the wonders of astronomy prepare children for adolescence and high school.
Every week includes specialist subjects that develop skills, creativity, and joy.
Children learn instruments, sing, and develop musical literacy through joyful, regular practice.
Knitting, sewing, weaving, and woodwork develop fine motor skills, patience, and the satisfaction of creating with one's own hands.
A unique movement art where children express music and language through graceful, purposeful whole-body movement.
A foreign language introduced through songs, games, stories, and conversation — building cultural awareness and cognitive flexibility.
Physical education through cooperative games, athletics, and team activities that build strength, coordination, and social skills.
Watercolour painting, form drawing, clay modelling, and illustration are woven throughout the curriculum, bringing every subject alive.
Each school day follows a rhythm that balances concentration with relaxation, intellectual work with practical and artistic activity, and stillness with movement. This organic balance supports deep learning and healthy development.
