A connected, caring community is at the heart of everything we do
At Wild Cherry, families don't just drop their children at the gate — they become part of a warm, supportive community that shares in the joys and responsibilities of raising children together. Seasonal festivals, shared meals, working bees, and parent involvement create bonds that extend well beyond the classroom.
Seasonal festivals are a cornerstone of Steiner education, connecting children and families with the turning of the year.
Our biggest community event of the year. Families and visitors enjoy craft stalls, live music, maypole dancing, children's activities, and delicious homemade food. The Spring Fair celebrates new life, creativity, and the warmth of our school community.

As the longest night approaches, our community gathers to bring light into the darkness. Children carry handmade lanterns through the school grounds, singing traditional songs. A shared meal of warm soup and bread, puppet shows, and candlelight create a magical evening.

We give thanks for the abundance of autumn with a whole-school harvest celebration. Children bring seasonal produce to share, and we prepare a community feast together. Songs, stories, and gratitude mark this beautiful transition into the cooler months.

There are many ways for families to contribute to the life of Wild Cherry.
Regular working bees bring families together to care for our school grounds, gardens, and building. These are wonderful social occasions and a chance to contribute to the beauty of our shared environment.
Our seasonal festivals are made possible by dedicated parent volunteers who plan, prepare, and create. Festival committees are a rewarding way to be part of the school's cultural life.
Parents are welcome to assist in classrooms, help with excursions, share skills, and support special activities. Your involvement enriches the children's learning experience.
As an independent school, we rely on parent participation in governance. Join the school council, finance committee, or other working groups to help guide Wild Cherry's future.
Our school newsletter, “The Wild Cherry Whisper,” is published each fortnight during term time. It keeps our community informed and connected with news, upcoming events, classroom updates, and reflections on Steiner education.
The Whisper is distributed to all current families via email and is also available in print from the school office. If you'd like to contribute an article, recipe, or community notice, please speak with the office.
In each issue you'll find:
